Guislaine winning the Prix d'Aumale as a two-year-old
The first inkling that Tropular was capable of siring a good horse came
with the appearance of his daughter Guislaine on the track in 1991. As a two-year-old she
was not far behind the best of her generation, winning the Prix d'Aumale, a one-mile Group
Three race, and finishing a close fourth in the Prix Marcel Boussac, France's top race for
juvenile fillies. Like Ragmar, Guislaine had been
purchased from her breeders, the Sandors, by the bloodstock agent Gerard Larrieu for his
client Jean-Louis Bouchard.
