Troy's Legacy
NEW! View a list
of all stallions descended from Troy!
In his short time at stud, three and a half seasons, Troy sired 5 group
winners and 7 other stakes winners. His sons and daughters have continued to carry on his
line and his name, even now, 24 years after his birth and 17 years after his death. His
descendents have between them won top races in countries as far apart as the USA, the UK,
Eire, Japan, France, Germany, Italy, South Africa, India, Turkey, Kenya and the former
USSR; the following are the best of them:
Troy's Progeny by Crop
Most of the names in black
are hyperlinks which when clicked will either take you to an article
about that particular horse or to a page of details about that particular
horse in the database. In addition while you are in the progeny area
you can always click on one of the four buttons at the top (1981
Crop, 1982 Crop, etc.) to get full information about that foal crop,
including the ability to click on any horse's name to get its
details. Please note that while I have included some pedigree and
foal information for other notable horses the information about them
is nowhere near as complete as the information about Troy's
descendents.
International cataloguing standards are used to indicate stakes winners,
stakes-placed horses, winners and non-winners. Please note that information
about pedigrees, winners and stakes winners is limited to my personal
knowledge so some pedigrees are incomplete and some horses may be winners
even though I do not indicate them as such. If in doubt please refer to a
pedigree database such as Equine
Line for further information.
I am always trying to keep my knowledge of Troy's descendents
up-to-date. If anyone reading this has any information about any of the horses mentioned
in these pages please fill in the form below and send it to me.
If anyone reading this lives in Japan: if you have some information
about either Pilsudski or Oath can you please let me know! Thanks! They were
probably the two best descendents of Troy and I am particularly interested to know about
their foals, and about the
pedigrees and racing careers of the mares they have covered at stud in
Japan.
