  • July 2000

    • (TROY) War Game (Caerleon - Walensee by Troy) follows up with a win in the Prix Maurice de Nieuil (Gr. 2) in France. She is now doing plenty to rescue the reputation of her Group 1-winning dam as a broodmare!

    • (PAGES) Some major changes in style on this site and the addition of a database of Troy's progeny, including pedigrees and breeding record information. 

    • (TROY) Air Marshall (c 1997 In the Wings - Troyanna by Troy) is second on his seasonal debut in the July Trophy (LR). His dam was placed in the Irish Oaks and he is a half-brother to Group winner Break Bread and the useful Aquatic, and looks sure to progress this season.

    • (TROY) Lady Upstage (f 1997 Alzao - She's the Tops by Shernazar - Troytops by Troy) wins the Pretty Polly Stakes (gr.2 ) in Ireland, following her close 5th in the Oaks.

  • June 2000

    • (TROY) Palace Royale (Perugino - Trojan Tale by Critique - Troyanos by Troy) is second in the Victor McCalmont Memorial Stakes, L., in Ireland..

  • May 2000

    • (TROY) Lady Upstage (f 1997 Alzao - She's the Tops by Shernazar - Troytops by Troy) is second in the Musidora Stakes, Gr. 3, an important Oaks trial.

    • (TROY) War Game (Caerleon - Walensee by Troy) follows up her listed win with a second place in the Group 3 Prix Corrida in France.

    • (TROY) Embraced (Pursuit of Love - Tromond by Lomond - Troyes by Troy) wins the Swinley Stakes (LR) at Ascot and is now considered a serious candidate for the Oaks. She is a half-sister to Nowhere to Exit who won the Prix la Force and was runner up in the French Derby last year.

    • (TROY) Ragmar's first runner, Waderle du Moulin (Ragmar - Madame Danse by Groom Dancer), finishes fourth on his debut in France. 

  • April 2000

    • (TROY) Lady Upstage (f 1997 Alzao - She's the Tops by Shernazar - Troytops by Troy) wins the Masaka Stakes (LR) and heads for the Oaks.

    • (TROY) A filly by Sadler's Wells - Anima by Ajdal - Cocotte (a half sister to Pilsudski) sets a record price at the Tattersall's Breeze-Up two-year old sales of 125,000 Guineas. This is the first six-figure price ever at the sales and the filly was bought by a client to race in the UK or Ireland..

    • (TROY) Walensee's daughter War Game (Caerleon - Walensee by Troy) wins the Listed Prix de la Pepiniere on only her second outing. The four-year-old is the first stakes winner out of Champion 3yo filly Walensee, who herself won the Prix Vermeille in 1985.

  • October 1999

    • (TROY) Oath's sale to Japan as a stallion is confirmed. Bought for US$8 million (pounds 4.9 million), he will stand at Yushun Farm. Oath is the second top-class horse out of a Troy mare to stand in Japan, following Pilsudski's retirement there in 1997.

    • (TROY) Peach Out Of Reach (Sadler's Wells - Cocotte by Troy), a half sister to Pilsudski, wins the Listed Brownstown Stakes in Ireland.

    • (TROY) Palace Royale (Perugino - Trojan Tale by Critique - Troyanos by Troy) placed 2nd Bluebird Platinum Stakes, L.

  • September 1999

  • July 1999

    • (PAGES) Some pictures of Ragmar (Tropular - Reggae) taken during my recent visit to the Haras de Cluny in France, where he is currently standing as a stallion.

    • (TROY) Shining War (Shining Steel - Guerre de Troie, by Risk Me - Troyes) listed placed in France. Her dam is a half-sister to Tromond, dam of this year's Prix du Jockey-Club runner up Nowehere to Exit.

  • June 1999

    • (TROY) STOP PRESS!!! Janestra, from the first crop of Steamer Duck (Bering - Lavender Mist by Troy), a former Italian two-year-old champion, finishes second in the Italian Oaks (Gr. 1), providing the Italian-based stallion with a top-class horse from only a small foal crop.

    • (TROY) Caballero (Cadeaux Genereux - On Tiptoes by Shareef Dancer - Pennyweight by Troy) is listed placed in the UK. His dam won the Queen Mary stakes over 5f at Royal Ascot as a two year old, despite having an Irish Derby winner and a Derby winner as her sire and damsire!

    • (TROY) 6th June 1999, Nowhere To Exit (Exit To Nowhere - Tromond by Lomond - Troyes by Troy) almost does the double, finishing second in the French Derby (Prix du Jockey Club).

    • (TROY) 5th June 1999, Oath Wins the Epsom Derby! Almost 20 years to the day after Troy's seven-length victory in the 200th Blue Riband, his grandson Oath (Fairy King-Sheer Audacity by Troy) takes the Epsom Derby himself. Winning by a length, this follows the victory of Ragmar (Tropular-Reggae) in the 1996 French Derby as the second European middle distance classic to fall to a grandson of Troy.   • May 1999

    • (TROY) Nowhere To Exit (Exit To Nowhere - Tromond by Lomond - Troyes by Troy), wins the Prix La Force in France to put himself in the picture for the Prix du Jockey-Club (French Derby). His dam, a listed-placed winner, was out of Troyes, an own sister to the useful New Trojan from the family of Hellenic, Reform and Fastness.

    • (TROY) Oath (Fairy King - Sheer Audacity), a half brother to Pelder, Napoleon's Sister and Sheer Danzig, wins the Dee Stakes at Chester, a recognised Derby Trial, to put himself in the picture for Epsom.

  • 1998

    • (PAGES) Added short biography of Troy's regular jockey, Willie Carson.

    • (TROY) Phebus (Last Tycoon - Consolation) Group-placed in France.

  • 1997

    • (TROY) Pilsudski wins Japan Cup G1, Irish Champion Stakes G1, Champion Stakes G1 and Eclipse Stakes G1. He is a gallant second to Peintre Celebre in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe and his retirement to stud in Japan is announced.

    • (TROY) Keroub group-placed in France

    • (TROY) Pulsar (by Tropular) multiply listed-placed in France; Azelna (by Tropular) listed placed in France

    • (TROY) b c Tropular-Fanning the Flame makes FRF 430,000 at the Deauville August Sales - the highest figure yet for a yearling by Tropular

    • (TROY) Ragmar's retirement to stud at Haras de Saint-Gatien in France announced 

    • (TROY) Pilsudski wins Breeders' Cup Turf, G1, finishes 2nd in Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, Pilsudski (ex Cocotte) wins Gr 1 in Germany

    • (TROY) Keroub (by Tropular) wins first time out in France, potentially Group-class

    • (TROY) Fastness (ex City Fortress) wins Eddie Read H. Gr 1 for the second year running and is retired due to tendon injury
